    2001 Agreement with FORD to deliver SANYO battery systems for the "Hybrid Electric Vehicles". Joint Ventures in various business fields with companies like TOSHIBA, SHARP, NEC.  
       
    2001 World´s first washing machine without washing powder from SANYO.  
       
The Solar Ark   2002 Giant photovoltaic power generating system, SANYO Solar Ark, completed and Solar Lab, a solar energy museum, opened.
 
       
    2003 Agreement with NTT DATA Corporation reached to establish joint venture, NTT DATA SANYO System Corporation. Agreement with Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (Korea) reached to jointly develop strategic home-use air conditioners for global markets. Four corporate groups along with business units established, head office administrative divisions reformed.
