Respecting the environment and an actively protecting of nature are fixed parts of our company policy. Our products and actions are proof of this: The voluntary and complete stop of the use of CFC, the development and use of environmentally friendly technologies – e.g. solar energy, rechargeable batteries, cars fuelled by gas etc.

1995 erhielt SANYO den "Umweltpreis zum Schutze der Ozonschicht". Die ISO 14001-Zertifizierung bestätigt SANYOs Engagement hinsichtlich der Herstellung umweltfreundlicher Produkte.

The criticism of the industry is based upon appliances which should work in a sufficiently economic way in the Standby- as well as in the so called „ON mode“. SANYO is represented nationally in the federation „ZVEI“ (http://www.zvei.org) and Europe-wide in the „EICTA“(http://www.eicta.org) SANYO has voluntary proved the improvement of the standby power of our TV&VCR products annually since 1996.
Placing a high priority on improving SANYO’s corporate brand, the „Solar Ark“, the world’s largest solar power generation structure built at SANYO’s Gifu plant is a symbol representing SANYO’s high capability. By opening this huge building, SANYO’s environmental foundation was established (temporarily name „ECO FOUNDATION“) in order to promote environmental conservation activities.
